Our annual City Cross Country Meet between Athens and Troy High Schools, along with our four middle schools, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7. Earlier this fall, we learned that Firefighter’s Park would be unavailable due to a drainage construction project. Unfortunately, because of a staff resignation within the City of Troy Parks & Recreation Department, we were not notified of the project until we were already well into our fall season. This late notice made it extremely difficult to find an available local course that fit our schedule and the many factors involved in hosting this meet. As a result, we made the decision to move this year’s City Meet to Stoney Creek Metropark. This is a one-year change only, and we fully intend to return to Firefighter’s Park in the fall of 2026. In the meantime, we hope you and your teams will find the positives in competing on a beautiful, well-designed course here in our area. Course maps are attached along with a parent communication to send out to your families. The meet schedule is as follows: Girls High School – 4:30 PM Boys High School – 5:00 PM Girls Middle School – 5:30 PM Boys Middle School – 6:00 PM Park Entry Fee: $10 per vehicle. Please remind families that round-trip transportation will be provided for student-athletes if they prefer not to pay the entry fee. High School teams will return around 6:15 PM, and Middle School teams around 7:15 PM. We are grateful for your flexibility and leadership as we provide our student-athletes with another great City Meet experience. Let’s make this a memorable event for all our runners!
