May 7, 2026 — Waterford Mott High School Troy High delivered an overwhelming offensive showcase Thursday, sweeping the Corsairs in dominant fashion behind explosive hitting, clutch performances, and strong pitching efforts. The offensive surge was led by standout performances from Higginbotham and Bultynck, who powered a Troy lineup that combined for 35 runs on 39 hits across the two games. Higginbotham had a career day in the opening game, driving in five runs on three hits. The junior launched an inside-the-park home run in the first inning, added an RBI single in the second, and broke the game open with a bases-clearing triple in the fourth. Her performance sparked a relentless Troy offense that piled up 22 runs on 21 hits. Troy wasted no time setting the tone early. King opened the scoring with an inside-the-park home run, while Bultynck followed with a triple down the line. The momentum continued throughout the game, highlighted by a seven-run second inning and a nine-run fourth inning, as the lineup produced from top to bottom. Fairman was flawless at the plate in Game 1, going a perfect 4-for-4 to lead the team in hits. She was joined by multiple contributors, including Bultynck, Corley, King, Coran, and Harris, who each recorded multiple hits in the win. Key RBI hits came from across the lineup, including contributions from Sobotka and Coran, showcasing Troy’s depth. In the circle, Sobotka delivered a strong performance, tossing four shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four to secure the win. The second game saw Troy continue its offensive dominance, this time behind the power bat of Bultynck. She launched two home runs—both inside-the-park—and drove in four runs, leading Troy to a 13-3 victory. Troy again struck early, with Fairman opening the scoring with an inside-the-park home run. The offense continued to build through disciplined at-bats and extra-base hits, including a triple from King and a steady combination of hits from Seestedt, Corley, and Coran. Seestedt proved to be a key force in the lineup, collecting multiple extra-base hits and driving in four runs, matching Bultynck for a team-high in RBIs during the second game. Alongside Coran, Bultynck, Corley, and Fairman, she was part of a group of five players who each tallied three hits, underscoring Troy’s consistent offensive pressure. In the circle, Harris led the way with a complete effort, pitching five innings, allowing three runs while striking out five to earn the win. Across both games, Troy showcased not only its power hitting but also its depth, discipline, and ability to capitalize in key moments. The team strung together aggressive baserunning, timely extra-base hits, and run production from nearly every spot in the lineup. With standout performances from Higginbotham, Bultynck, Seestedt, Corley, and Fairman, Troy High demonstrated a balanced and dangerous offense—one capable of putting up runs in bunches and maintaining pressure throughout the game. Troy now looks ahead to its next matchup riding the momentum of one of its most complete performances of the season.
