Troy High delivered an overwhelming performance against Ferndale on April 30, 2026, sweeping the doubleheader in dominant fashion with 16–1 and 20–2 victories at Troy High School. Fueled by explosive offense, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching, Troy showcased its depth and firepower in both games. In game one, Troy High wasted no time taking control. After allowing a single run in the top of the first inning, Troy responded with a six-run bottom half to seize momentum early. Despite recording just two hits in the inning, Troy capitalized on defensive miscues and timely execution to build a commanding lead. The offensive surge continued throughout the game. Troy added multiple runs in each of the second and third innings, highlighted by several inside-the-park home runs. Bultynck sparked the offense with one of those home runs, while Seestedt and King followed with their own inside-the-park blasts. The team’s ability to consistently pressure Ferndale’s defense led to a 16-run outing on 12 hits. Higginbotham led Troy at the plate in game one, collecting three hits in three at-bats. Coran, Seestedt, Bultynck, and Higginbotham each drove in two runs, demonstrating a balanced offensive attack. Sobotka contributed both in the circle and at the plate, tallying two hits while also delivering a strong pitching performance. She allowed just one run over three innings, striking out eight batters and limiting Ferndale to three hits. Troy’s defensive performance was equally impressive. The team played error-free softball and showed strong fundamentals throughout, with Seestedt anchoring the defense and recording eight plays. On the bases, Troy applied constant pressure, swiping five stolen bases and taking advantage of every opportunity to advance. Game two saw Troy elevate its offensive output even further in a 20–2 rout. The team erupted for 12 runs in a single inning, effectively putting the game out of reach early. That inning featured a relentless sequence of scoring plays, including key hits, defensive errors forced by pressure, and aggressive base running. Bultynck led the charge with a standout performance, driving in five runs on three hits. Her highlight moment came on an inside-the-park grand slam, showcasing both power and speed. She added another RBI single in the same inning, capping off a dominant showing at the plate. The offensive production in game two was widespread. Troy racked up 19 total hits, with Fairman leading the way by going a perfect four-for-four. Coran, Higginbotham, and Seestedt each added multiple hits, continuing their strong performances from game one. Harris and Higginbotham contributed additional inside-the-park home runs, while Coran added a run-scoring triple. Troy’s aggressive approach extended to the base paths once again, as the team recorded multiple stolen bases and constantly challenged Ferndale’s defense. Hurd led that effort with two steals, helping sustain scoring opportunities throughout the game. In the circle, Harris delivered a solid outing, allowing just two runs (one earned) over three innings while striking out three. Combined with Troy’s offensive explosion, the effort ensured another decisive victory. Across both games, Troy High displayed a complete team performance—combining pitching, defense, hitting, and speed. The team totaled 36 runs and 31 hits on the day, while consistently capitalizing on opponent mistakes and maintaining defensive discipline. With contributions up and down the lineup and dominant pitching efforts, Troy High continues to build momentum and establish itself as a formidable force.
